He added that the ranking system encourages universities to continuously improve academic quality and sustainable institutional governance. Unismuh aims to improve its ranking from its previous position of 1201–1300 through measurable, data-based, and validated improvements.

Vice Rector IV Burhanuddin stated that this year's indicator improvement focuses on aspects that directly impact international performance. This effort is carried out by expanding global cooperation through student and faculty exchange programs, and strengthening the implementation of tracer studies so that graduate data can be documented quickly and easily accessed.

He emphasized that traceability of graduate achievements is an important point in international assessment, therefore it needs to be managed systematically and sustainably.

Meanwhile, Chairman of UGEC, Hartono Bancong, explained that his team is coordinating the collection of supporting documents from various work units to ensure that the data submitted is in accordance with the QS indicators. He emphasized the importance of accuracy and consistency of information.

After the QS Asia submission process, Unismuh Makassar will continue to strengthen data and evaluation indicator management as a preparation for the next ranking. The immediate target is to participate in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027, with the data submission deadline of March 30, 2026.
