UGEC undergoes ISO 21001:2018 Audit to Strengthen Quality and Competitiveness

As a newly established institution at Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, the Unismuh Global Excellence Center (UGEC) recently underwent an ISO 21001:2018 audit as part of its initial commitment to building excellence in quality, governance, and service. This activity serves as a strategic foundation for UGEC to strengthen its quality management system and realize its vision of becoming a leading global center for scientific publications and rankings based on Islamic values.

The audit proceeded smoothly with positive results, confirming UGEC's consistency in maintaining quality standards and governance, even as a new institution. This activity also provides a crucial opportunity to reinforce UGEC's role in improving the quality of scientific publications by faculty and students, as well as strengthening the institution's competitiveness at the national and international levels.

As an excellence center, UGEC continues to:

• Develop high-quality scientific publications that are accessible and appreciated both nationally and internationally.
• Guide journals towards accreditation as SINTA (Scientific Information Management System) and international indexing, including Scopus and Web of Science (WoS).
• Support achieving global rankings, such as QS World University Rankings, Times Higher Education (THE), and UI GreenMetric.

This initiative solidifies UGEC as an innovative, professional, and globally competitive excellence center, while remaining grounded in Islamic values. This moment marks a promising beginning for UGEC to continue innovating, improving quality, and expanding its global influence.
